Mercury

Mercury is the first planet in our solar system and is the closet to the sun. The color of Mercury is a grayish yellow color. One day on Mercury is about 59 earth days. A year is only 88 earth days though! It is one of the only planets that do not have any moons/satellites at all. It has a diameter of 4,879 kilometers. It is 0.39 AU from the sun. Its surface temperature ranges from -173 to 427°C. It is the second densest planet in our solar system other than our Earth. They call Mercury the old planet because it has wrinkles on its surface. It happened when the core cooled and created little ridges. Mercury was named after the roman messenger god. Mercury is indeed one very interesting planet.
